They say a Sunday well spent brings a week of content and the adage rings true for me after spending (my) Sunday afternoon at the (mask) bar.

I was invited to attend a session at scratch goods located on 843 W Randolph St, in Chicago’s west loop and it was exactly what I needed.

The beautifully yet minimally decorated space truly sets the tone for rejuvenation.

Imagine a place where food-grade ingredients (that are safe enough to eat) and fragrance from pure essential oils meet.

That is scratch goods.

After the initial introduction to the products by our scratch goods professional, I chose to use the charcoal powder mixed with coffee to create my mask.

Benefits of charcoal:

control the oil secretion in your skin, making it perfect for skin prone to blackheads and acne, also works as an excellent exfoliator, ridding the skin of dead cells.

Benefits of coffee :

good source of antioxidants; repairs damage due to environmental pollutants and free radicals.

The experience lasted about 55 minutes and I left feeling rejuvenated and with glowing skin.
